My First Blog

I thought Id write my first official blog on a very important date in my life. My birthday. This is a time of reflection and re-evaluation. I ask myself if this is where I thought Id be in my life at this age. If you would have asked me as a child where Id be I would have told you Id be married for half my life by now with practically grown children living the American dream. I never would have suspected Id sell advertising to get by and develop a passion for stand up comedy which has been both a blessing and a curse. Its a difficult path which gives clear meaning to the word unfair. It gives me the most pleasure and the most pain. There is nothing more exhilarating than being on a stage making people laugh. There is also nothing more painful than doing this for no/low pay competing in a world where you have to do something else for a living so you can get by until you make it big. In the big city it is just an honor to get stage time. Touche, there is nothing else that gives me such pleasure. Well, almost nothing ;). I am not married but am still lucky to have had love in my life and do believe when it is right it will happen. It is something I want but don’t consider it a goal.

My birthday also falls on Mothers Day occasionally. By some unexpected turn of events I happen to be able to spend this day with my Mother and family. With all of the unexpected turn of events in my lifetime the one constant is my mom, who loves me unconditionally and is always there for me as well as my family. She was born for that job and I am thankful for her employment as such!

I have also learned that age is just a number, unless you ask my nieces and nephews, of course. According to them I don’t know anything! I have often been asked what keeps me so young. The answer is moisturizer. And a few other things. I keep young by being active, seeing opportunity and having faith that everything will work out. There are many things outside my control. But I can control my health, physically and mentally, to the best of my abilities.I think we also need to all pay more attention to what we DO have instead of what we DON’T have. I have learned over the years to not sweat the small stuff to not tolerate the negativity of others. I still have a lot to learn but hopefully when this is all over I will have mastered this! I have also learned that if you want things to be different you have to do things differently.

I want to thank anyone who took the time to read a tiny glimpse of myself. Thanks for your support and Happy Mothers Day to all of you Moms!
